Voluma is a filler designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface. It provides lift and contour to the cheek and under eye areas, and is the first and only filler to receive U.S. FDA approval for the augmentation of the chin region. It is also the first and only filler proven to last up to two years when injected into the cheek and under-eye area. Because fat pads in our faces descend with age, we lose volume in our bone structure. Over time, age-related volume loss can cause the cheeks to flatten and the skin to sag. Voluma is designed to add volume to lift and contour the cheek area, with the results being comparable to a “mini facelift.”

Juvéderm Voluma XC is the same exact formula as Juvéderm Voluma, but contains lidocaine, which is an anesthetic that makes the injection more comfortable for the patient.

HOW DOES JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC WORK?

Juvéderm Voluma XC is an injectable gel treatment. Voluma is a crystal-clear gel made of hyaluronic acid — which is a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume. Unfortunately, as we get older, our bodies produce less hyaluronic acid, leaving the skin dehydrated, resulting in the appearance of wrinkles and folds in the skin. However, when injected into the targeted area, Juvéderm Volbella hydrates the cells in one’s muscles, and skin, and is able to “fill in” these wrinkles and folds, and/or plump an area.

WHERE IS JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC USED?

Juvéderm Voluma XC is for deep injection in the cheek and under-eye area, to correct age-related volume loss. It is also used in the chin and jawline areas.

ARE YOU A GOOD CANDIDATE?

In order to receive Juvéderm treatment, all patients must be over the age of 21. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use dermal fillers. Anyone who has recently used blood thinners or has a bleeding disorder should also avoid dermal fillers.
